Obituary of John Logan Hunter

HUNTER, John “Logan”

January 20, 1984 – October 5, 2021

With great sorrow we share the news of the sudden and devastating loss of our adored son Logan on Tuesday, October 5, 2021.

Logan, so full of life and boldness, was born in Moose Jaw on January 20, 1984. Raised in Regina, Logan was a precocious child. He was frequently exploring places he should not – always flashing his beautiful, mischievous smile. He loved spending time with his Nan and Papa, Norm and Pat Sharp, both in Moose Jaw and on the farm where he and Papa would get themselves into endless trouble.

He attended W.F. Ready School, Balfour Collegiate and Saskatchewan Polytechnic where he completed the carpentry program.

Logan was a skilled carpenter, a talent inherited from his Papa. Logan could make just about anything, and could often be persuaded to help with projects, such as building a deluxe potting station for his mom. A chef extraordinaire, Logan spent hours exploring recipes and creating amazing food using his family and friends as willing tasting panels. At family events, he would take control of the kitchen giving orders on how to mince, dice, mash, slice and stir, and then taste the dishes to ensure that each was perfect.

Logan loved many things but was a quiet, gentle soul who preferred working behind the scenes rather than being the centre of attention. Logan loved his family and adored animals – especially his cats Gray and Rusty, and all of our dogs. He had the most beautiful brown eyes, a smile that would light up the room, and a joyous laugh. He loved great food, Christmas, bonfires in his backyard. His flame is extinguished but his light still shines.

Logan is mourned and profoundly missed by his parents, Michelle and Brad; his Nan, Priscilla (Pat) Sharp; Aunt Liane and Uncle Chris Schultz, cousins Nick and Sophie; and surviving Hunter aunts and uncles, Arline, Brian and Judi, Bruce and Theresa, Blair and Darlene, and numerous Hunter cousins. Also left to mourn is Logan’s closest friend, Mike Raina. Logan and Mike were more brothers than friends, and leaned on one another during the ups and downs of life.

Logan was predeceased by his Papa, Norm Sharp, his Hunter grandparents – Bob and Bea, and his three Hunter Uncles – Bob, Barry and Brent.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Regina Humane Society in Logan’s memory.
