Stéphane Ebrotié

1992-2021

1992-2021

Stéphane spent his childhood and part of his teen years in his native country of Côte d’Ivoire. He arrived in Canada with his father François on December 1, 2006. The temperature was -30 that day, but Stéphane’s smile immediately warmed everyone’s hearts.

Indeed, his charming smile has left its mark on all of us. He may have been shy and often stayed quiet in social settings, but his radiant smile was always on display. Every time you met him, you could expect the most beautiful smile and a heartfelt embrace. He loved talking, laughing, and sharing with others—not to mention teasing them, especially his brothers and sisters.

Stéphane was never one to go half-in. Like his father, he was passionate about music, as well as basketball, soccer, and sports in general.

When Stéphane loved, he did so with all his heart. He adored his mother, Suzanne Aboudou; his father, François; his second mother, Janice, his brothers and sisters; his extended Canadian family; his family in Côte d’Ivoire; and his friends. He had enough love for everyone. He loved people, listening to them, helping them.

Fate has taken him from us far too soon. We will all miss him tremendously. He is surely smiling down on us, dancing, singing, and smiling. That’s what we will never forget: his love for his family and others, the spark in his eye, his smile.
