Obituary of James Pratt

JAMES ARTHUR PRATT (Lil Jim) Pine hsi Ka-pitwewitank (Thunder Bird is Coming) July 27, 1976 August 10, 2010 It is with great sorrow that the family of Lil Jim announce his passing into eternal rest. Lil Jim passed away peacefully in his sleep and entered into the Lord Jesus Heavenly Kingdom. He was predeceased by grandfather William H. Pratt, grandparents Hugh and Margaret McKay; aunts, Doreen Fox and Sarah Mae Pratt. He is survived by his precious baby girl Tracy Francis Kennedy; loving parents Conrad and Liz Cappo; special parents Joey Desjarlais and Brenda Poitras; brothers, Ben (Lonnie) Conrad Jr., J.J. and Jordan Poitras; sisters Nachelle, Jamie (Tony), Krista (Jon), Laura (Rob); grandparents, Isabelle Pratt, George and Eva Cappo, Jim and Lena Cote, special Koko Doreen Cote, and Sadie Haywahe; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles from the Pratt, Cappo, Jack, Lavallee, Desjarlais, Haywahe, Anaquod, Cote and McNab families; as well as the friends that he loved so much. Lil Jim was raised on the Muscowpetung First Nation by his Mushum Bill and Kokum Jazzy. He was also guided and loved by his Uncle Jim and Delores Pratt and Uncle Keith and Lisa Pratt. He was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes at thirteen years of age and since March 31, 2010, made his home at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre. Lil Jim was known by all for his great enthusiasm for enjoying life. He was well known for his great sense of humour that could put a smile on anyones face. He loved being with his family and close friends. He especially loved being surrounded by his nieces and nephews who lovingly called him Uncle Scar. He enjoyed listening to all kinds of music and loved to dance. The family would like to thank Dr. Prasad, Dr. Laursen and the Unit 3-3 nursing staff at Wascana Rehab. Centre, for the loving care and comfort they gave to James during his brief stay. The wake will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at the Muscowpetung Education Centre. Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bernard (Hoss) Jack officiating. The family requests that there be no perfumes or smoking and no children please.
