Obituary of Olga Hostin

OLGA HOSTIN Olga Hostin, born July 27, 1931, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2010. Olga will be forever remembered by her husband Albert, four children, Shirley (Lynn) of Regina SK, Denise of Ladner, BC, Kelly (Tammy) of Rockglen, SK and Garry of Regina, SK, six grandchildren, Michael, Kristy (Colin), Trina (Chad), Jenna-Lee, Tyler and Breanna and one great grandson, Grady. Olga also has two brothers, Bill (Chi Chi), Peter (Roxine), and a sister Anne. Olga was predeceased by her father and mother, Peter and Annie, brothers, John and Steve, and sister Mary. Olga was born and raised on a farm just outside Kelstern, SK. She left Kelstern as a young woman to work in the CIBC bank in Rockglen, where she met and married Albert Hostin. Together Albert and Olga raised their four children. In 1992, Albert and Olga semi-retired to Regina, making yearly spring and fall visits to help their son Kelly and family on the farm. Olga enjoyed, reading, gardening, curling, and took pride in being an excellent homemaker. Mom so loved seeing the wheat swaying in the wind, always watching the sky and pondering what the fall harvest would bring. "My precious child, I'd never leave you. See your name carved on the hollow of My hand. I'm here to carry you to your home. You will see one set of footprints in the sand? A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Roman Catholic Parish, 1021 McCarthy Blvd N. on Monday, August 16, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Following mass there will be a private family interment at Rockglen Catholic Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined, those so wishing may make donations to Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina SK, S4R 8P6 or Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina SK S4P 2R3 in Olgas memory.
