Obituary of Crystal Halbert

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Fern. After a courageous battle with cancer, her fight ended peacefully on Wednesday, August 18, 2010. She had never given up hope and remained positive right until the end. Fern leaves behind her two sons, Ryan and Norman and grandchildren Courtney and Ashton. She is also survived by her twin sister Faith and niece Kathy. Fern and Faith moved to Regina in 1980 to start their new lives. It was then that she started her 28 year career with Extendicare Sunset. Our mother selflessly devoted her entire life to helping her family and other people. Her two sons were her pride and joy, always putting a smile on her face well, almost always! Our mothers strong faith in God provided her with the strength she needed through her trials and tribulations of life. She was eternally hopeful, grateful, and most importantly, forgiving of all. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:30 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 3, 2010 in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 4, 2010 in Riverside Memorial Park, 815 Assiniboine Avenue East, Regina. (Please meet inside the gate just prior to 2:00 p.m.) The family would also like to thank our mothers close friend, colleague and neighbor Anita Paquin who was always there for our mother, in good times and bad, for over 20 years. Thank you. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.speersfuneralchapel.com
