Obituary of Dorothy Eliason
Dorothy passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022 in Regina, SK at the age of 86 years. She was born on September 8, 1935 in Meadow Lake, SK to parents Cyrenus and Olive Turcotte. Dorothy was a strong independent woman who raised four children. She worked as a cook for many years at Frank’s Café on 11th Avenue in Regina, Husky House, Top Hat Billiards and then eventually Woolco and Walmart. Dorothy was a kind, considerate and compassionate woman. Her children fondly remember her great sense of humor. Dorothy was very proud of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and watching the Calgary Stampeders. Over her life she established many friendships in Naramata, BC, Edmonton and Airdrie, AB. Seven years ago, Dorothy moved to Regina to be closer to her family. She was predeceased by her husband Jim May; parents Cyrenus and Olive Turcotte; siblings Doris Dahl, Leo Turcotte, Doreen Ferguson, Dora Fowlie, Lou Turcotte, Lyle Turcotte, Delores Darke and Johanne Brooks. Dorothy is survived by her children Jerry Eliason, Gloria Schwickrath (Paul), Gwen Holzer (Al) and Kevin Eliason; grandchildren Ryan Eliason, Britten Eliason, Jacob Eliason, Braden Eliason and Lucas Charuk; great-grandchildren Journey Eliason, Meadow Eliason and Bennett Eliason Kinnee; special extended family, Jim and Michelle Charuk; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Carmen Johnson, Dr. Greg Baumann, and nursing staff of 3A Pasqua Palliative Care for the care of Dorothy over the last several weeks. In keeping with Dorothy’s wishes, a private family gathering will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory to Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit, 4104 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK S4T 1A5.
