The family and friends of Orv and Joy Larmer are saddened to report the death of Orv on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, in Regina, SK, at 93 years of age. Orv was predeceased by his wife, Joy in 2019; mother Beatrice (nee Barlow) in 1983; father Lew in 1984; and brother Francis “Frank” in 1994 in England. Orv spent nearly 40 years working for the Provincial Government in various departments, 13 years in the Ovea Art Studio (owned by cousin Louise Aird-Pringle). He volunteered with a number of organizations: United Way, South Leisure Centre, Regina Exhibition (40 plus years), Pioneer Village Nursing Home, Regina University (10 plus years), St. John’s Ambulance, Regina Police Service, and others. Orv is survived by sister, Ilo Mathieson and her children Beverly and Darrel; nephew Frank (Alison Cousins); great-nephews Darin and Craig and their families in England and Australia; two special cousins Gail Haughn, Saskatoon and Judy Greensides, Moose Jaw; as well as many other cousins and their families. Orv and his wife Joy (nee Curror) married on October 20, 1956; she also devoted much of her life to volunteering. Orv, on behalf of Joy and himself, thanks family and friends who looked after their welfare when needed. They are now together forever. A Come and Go Tea will be held at the Speers Family Centre, 2333 Cornwall Street, Regina, SK on Sunday, February 20, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
