On Saturday, February 5, 2022, Bruce Allan Trembley of Regina, Saskatchewan, peacefully passed away at 92.
Bruce was born in Bredenbury, Saskatchewan, to Ora J. Trembley and Ethel P. Cook on August 28, 1929. He went to school at Bredenbury. He married Olga Mary Shankowsky on July 30, 1952, at St. Andrews United Church, Yorkton, Saskatchewan.
He worked in various departments at SaskTel for 36 years, both in Yorkton and Regina.
He played with an orchestra, "The Melatones" which consisted of a group of his friends. Dad’s choice of instruments were the saxophone and clarinet. He could play the music by “ear.” His brother Hugh had taught him to play. He eagerly would play just about any song request you gave to him on his saxophone or clarinet.
He was also an avid golfer and won several tournaments throughout his years. He taught his wife to golf, which they enjoyed doing together for many years. Bruce's married life and retirement years were joyous. Bruce and Ollie were blessed to have many great friends. They spent retirement time while they were healthy in the winter months in Texas and the West coast. Bruce was a quiet soul, and he always carried good conversation and had a keen sarcastic humour. He retired from SaskTel, and they moved to Madge Lake. Bruce and Ollie resided at Madge Lake for 25 years, and then they moved to Regina in 2010 to be closer with their family.
He was predeceased by his wife Olga Mary Trembley; brothers Hugh Trembley, Frank Trembley, and Jim Trembley; and grandson Graham Brian Kirk.
Bruce will be missed by his children Barb Smith (Dean), Donna Kirk (Brian), Dave Trembley (Lisa); and grandchildren Ian Smith, Brenda Smith, Thomas Kirk, Jaida Trembley and Kaitlyn Trembley.
A family private funeral service will be held. Interment at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family of Bruce Allan Trembley wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Sunset Extendicare for their due diligence and loving care.
