Obituary of Lyle Duane Johnson

Lyle Duane Johnson, born in Ratner, SK on November 25, 1933, died at Regina Pioneer Village on August 22, 2010. He was predeceased by father George (1977) and mother Inez (1978) Johnson, and brother-in-law Lucien Petry (1992). He leaves to mourn the Petry family: sister Verda; niece Yvonne (Gary Diver); nephew Norman; nephew Roger (Jill Forrester) and their sons Jonathan and Christopher; nephew Robert (Jackie Lukey) and their children Thalia and Luke. He will also be remembered by Aunt Isla Fenner and cousin Ken (Susan) Fenner as well as numerous Johnson relatives in the U.S.A. Lyle lived all of his adult life in Ontario, working as a Research Technician in Nuclear Biology for Atomic Energy of Canada at Chalk River. He was as dedicated to his hobbies as his vocation. He was a skilled amateur astronomer, photographer, financier, historian, chess and bridge player. Due to failing health, Lyle moved to Regina in 2005 to be with family. A private Service of Remembrance will be held in Regina officiated by Pastor Craig Moeller. A Memorial Service with interment will be held at a later date in Ratner. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Regina Lutheran Care Society, 1925 5th Avenue North, Regina, SK, S4R 7W1.
