Obituary of Louis William Veresh

LOUIS WILLIAM VERESH It is with heavy hearts the family of Louis Veresh announce his passing on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at the age of 89, following a lengthy battle with congestive heart failure. Louis was born to Joseph and Mary Veresh (Kovacs) on the family farm near Lestock on October 28, 1920. He attended Marr Hall School and worked on the family farm. In 1944, he married his life long partner Alberte (Bobbie) Guillemin. Their marriage was blessed with five children. Louis loved working on the farm. He farmed until 1973, then moved to Regina and worked as caretaker for Waldos (Old Gold) for ten years. Louis retired to help Bobbie with her daycare. In 1992, Louis and Bobbie sold their home on Cornwall Street and moved to an apartment on Kleisinger Crescent. Louis influenced the lives of those around him with his love for music, nature, people, the list is endless. He will always be remembered as a loving, kind, compassionate, generous, honest and hard working man. Always encouraging, his advice was sought by family and friends. He was a father figure to many. He had a gentle quiet mannerism and a positive attitude on life always making the best of lifes challenges. Louis is survived by his loving wife of nearly 66 years, Alberte (Bobbie) and their children: Darlene (Wayne) Giesbrecht, Ernie (Dianne) Veresh, Andy (Bev) Veresh and Lynn (Walter) Heuck; grandchildren: Colin (Beckie) Giesbrecht, Jon (Kirsten) Giesbrecht, Justin (Adrienne) Giesbrecht, Clayton (Hollie) Veresh, Julie (Ryan) Dumonceaux, Tim (Karen) Veresh, Heather (Jason) Monus, Jordan and Taylor Heuck as well as ten great-grandchildren: Mychaela and Declan Giesbrecht, Kaylyn, Hayley, Emily and Mya Veresh, Owen and Ian Monus, Brooke and Kaden Dumonceaux ; and many relatives and friends. Louis was predeceased by his parents, Mary and Joseph Veresh, his baby daughter Barbara Ann, grandson Patrick, sister Mary Sabyan, and brothers Joe, Steve, Andy and Jim. Louis will be dearly missed. We will remember the lessons he taught us, memories we made with him and the love he gave us. Thank you for the beautiful memories. May God care for you as you cared for us. Prayers will be held Monday, September 6, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in Holy Child R.C. Church, 2636 7th Avenue East, Regina. Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, September 7 at 1:00 p.m. in Holy Child R.C. Church. In lieu of flowers those so wishing may make donations to a charity of their choice.
