Obituary of Sarah Nagy
It is with great sadness our family announces the sudden passing of our precious Mom and "Grannie". Sarah passed away peacefully in her home following a long and courageous battle with congestive heart failure and arthritis. Sarah was born in the village of Sopron Horpacs, Hungary, to Emmerencia and Istevan Udvardy. Sarah immigrated to Canada with her husband John and infant son Tibor during the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. Sarah was predeceased by her son in 1968 and husband in 1973; her parents; her sisters, Helen and Margaret, and most recently her brother George. Sarah will be fondly remembered by her daughters, Pearl (Laszlo) and Erika; four grandchildren, Lenore (Dean); Adam; Jessica and Mark, their Dad, Tim; her two beautiful great-granddaughters, Koralee and Kayliah; as well her long time best friend, Pauline. Sarah was a kind, gentle, loving soul, whose passion was taking care of her family. She loved her home and took pride in her yard, which she kept pristine. She had a wonderfully contagious smile and warm greetings, with authentic Hungarian meals and baking for us at our considered second home. She will be missed dearly. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 9th, 2010 in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, Saskatchewan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8 or a charity of choice.
