Obituary of Isabel Mary Ritenburg

1925 - 2010 On September 8, 2010, Isabel passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Regina General Hospital. Isabel was born in Regina on May 19, 1925. Isabel was predeceased by her parents, Jim and Laura Walker and her brother Sid Walker. She is survived by her loving husband, Lorne; her sons David (Shirley), Jack (Jeannette) and Jim (Jacquie); her grandchildren Christine (Jason), Andrew (Lindsay), Katherine (Patrick), Matthew, Laura and Emily; and her great-grandchildren, Jimmy, Cedric, Maggie and Thomas. Isabel will be remembered for her sense of humour, her faith and her commitment to family and friends. She and Lorne were founding and active members of St Lukes Anglican Church. She was proud of her active role in the Stephen Ministries. Isabel earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Saskatchewan and later a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Regina. She loved her work as a social worker with the Department of Social Services and the Regina Public School Board. Her passion was for helping families and people in need. Isabel especially loved a good game of Scrabble and her knowledge of the game and words was legendary. Her three sons often tired of being trounced so badly. A Celebration of Isabels Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 13, 2010 in St. Lukes Anglican Church, 3233 Argyle Road, Regina, with the Reverend Christopher Snook officiating. A private interment will follow. Flowers are most gratefully declined. Friends so wishing may make a donation, in memoriam, to St. Lukes Anglican Church, 3233 Argyle Road, Regina, Saskatchewan, S4S 2B5
