Obituary of William Davidson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dad, grampa, and great-grampa Bill on September 9, 2010 at the age of 88. He was born in Hardisty, AB and raised in Wilkie SK. Bill was predeceased by his wife Lona (1986); parents John and Dinah; stepmother Rachelle; one brother, four sisters, father and mother-in-law, brothers and sisters-in-law. Bill is survived by his daughters, Nola and Darryl Norrish, Patti and Calvin Taylor; four grandchildren: Jamie (Scott) Pearce, Jason (Heather) Norrish, Travis (Janine) Taylor, Becki (Brad) Zerr; seven great-grandchildren: Zachery, Megan and Sean Pearce, Jackson and Macy Norrish, Jagden Taylor, and Bennett Zerr; one brother-in-law Charles (Gloria) Crystal; one sister-in-law Lorna Jones; one step-brother Bob Westwater; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill served in WWII, overseas, as Special Wireless Intercept from 1942 1946. Returning to Wilkie, he re-joined the Canadian Pacific Railway until his retirement in 1982. Bill was involved in the many aspects of receiving of materials for the Construction of the South Saskatchewan River Dam Project (Lake Diefenbaker). He was the last station agent at Loreburn and then the Mobile Supervisor for CP Rail. Bill married his soul mate, Lona Jones in 1946 in Provost AB. They lived in numerous communities in Saskatchewan and Alberta until making their home in Loreburn in 1961. They relocated to Regina in 1982, and Saskatoon in 1985. Upon Lonas passing Bill moved around until settling back in Regina until his passing. Bill enjoyed many good times with his family and friends, the Legion and the Lions Clubs. The family would like to thank some special people who helped deliver care to Dad Kim and Wanda Bossenberry and their family, Lois Forrest, Carol Styles, Gail Skeet, Darrell Anderson, David Winter, Webb Lee, Isabelle Ackland, Ray Schneider, and all the nursing staff at 3-6 Wascana. In keeping with Bills wishes, there will be no funeral. Cremation with a Family Graveside Service will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Saskatoon. Flowers gratefully declined. Those wishing may make donations to the Salvation Army, 2240 13th Avenue, Regina, SK, S4P 3M7 or The Arthritis Society, #110 2550 12th Avenue, Regina SK, S4P 3X1.
