Sr. Germaine Zentner passed away quietly at Grace Hospice, in Regina on Saturday, June 25, 2022. Born on June 13, 1935, she was 87 years old and had spent 64 years as a member of the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions. Her parents, John and Margaret (nee Haas) Zentner settled on a farm near Langenburg, SK and raised a family of six daughters and four sons, all of whom are deceased. Germaine is survived by many extended family members, her religious family and friends. Germaine, a woman of deep faith, used her many talents to generously help others. She taught for 35 years in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Ontario. The renewal programs she attended were put to use in teaching and the missions. Her missionary work took her to Oxford House, Sandy Bay and the Philippines. Five years at Kramer Home in Regina was a joyful time for her and the residents in her care. No work was ever too big or too small for Germaine. Wherever she went, Germaine quickly made friends, kept them in her heart and memory and remained in touch with them. During the past few weeks, she was able to say her final goodbyes by phone or visits as she faced her death with serenity and peace. Germaine welcomed many people into her life. May God now welcome her to a heavenly home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Rosary Cathedral, 3125 13th Avenue, Regina, SK on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery at Lebret, SK at 4:30 p.m. Family and friends so wishing, may make a donation in memory of Sr. Germaine to the Sisters' Mission Fund, 393 Gaboury Place, Winnipeg, MB R2H 0L5.
