Obituary of James Paul Gerein

JAMES PAUL GEREIN James P. passed away on September 18, 2010. He was born December 7, 1913 at Vibank, Saskatchewan. Predeceased by sons Andy and Jimmie, wife, Jean, and nine brothers and sisters, he is survived by his daughter Gloria Wahl (Fin), three grandchildren, Terri Baldwin (Bruce), Lori Kukura (Sean), James Wahl (Monique) and nine great-grandchildren, Julie, Roxanne, Miguel, Gabby, Emma, Rafael, Toby, Renee, and Owen. He is also survived by In-Laws, Jack Wood, Hannah and Eddie Haider, Rose Tuchscherer, and Nora Schlosser. Jim received his high school education at Campion College and then farmed at Vibank, marrying Jean Schlosser in 1938. During the 40s and 50s, he worked for International Harvester in several Saskatchewan communities. From 1957 to his retirement in 1979, he worked for Simpson Sears in Regina. For twenty-five years, Jim and Jean cared for their son, Jimmie, who was bed-ridden with multiple sclerosis. Later, they traveled extensively throughout North America. Elmview Extendicare provided Jim with loving and outstanding care for the last few years of his life. They were marvellous to Jim. Jim loved his family, was extremely generous, and lived life with zest. Reading and following sports teams were his passions. For over 70 years, he was a loyal fan and supporter of the Riders. Grandpa Jim will be missed greatly! Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Cross R.C., 315 Douglas Avenue East, Regina.
