Obituary of Kenneth Augustus Moens
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Kenneth Augustus Moens on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, in Regina, Saskatchewan, in his 94th year. He was predeceased by his wife Mary; sisters Elsie and her husband Mike Hogan, Margaret and her husband Walter Carpenter; and brother Arthur. Ken is survived by his common-law Gwen Fotheringham; son Kelly (Betty) Moens; daughter Betty (James) Goodchild; grandchildren: Bradley (Lisa) Moens, Jon (Mandi) Moens, Thomas (Rachel Popa) Goodchild, and Kerri (Olivier) Desgagné; as well as great-grandchildren: Addelyn and Norah Moens and Felix and Logan Desgagné. Ken will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews.
Ken was born September 9, 1927, in Regina, Saskatchewan. He worked at the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool for over 45-years. Ken started in the mailroom and ended up in management, Region ‘D’ Grain Accounting. He was one of the first computer programmers in the province of Saskatchewan. The computer room at the Wheat Pool took up almost a whole floor during this period! Dad was most happy when spending time with his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. He loved them dearly. His eyes lit up when he was with family and friends. He also loved animals and loved all the ‘fur babies’ in our family, over the years!
