Obituary of Pat Flaman

Sarah (Pat) Flaman passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on September 6, 2022 at the age of 93 years. She joins her husband Aloys, who predeceased her in 2008; parents, John and Catherine Young; sister Annie Young and sister Kay and husband Hector Berard; sisters-and-brothers-in-law Terry Young, Edward (Kay) Flaman, Chris (Adeline) Flaman, Barb Leier, Robert (Eileen) Flaman, Isabella (Edwin) Sali, Leona (Frank) Manz, Bonnie Flaman and Albert Thomas. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Kelly and his children Austen and Madisson; daughter Colleen; and son Kevin (Tammy) and their daughter Sloan; brother John Young; sisters-and-brothers-in-law Frank Leier; Vera (Ed) Shatkowski, Florian Flaman and Mary Thomas; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Mom was a true farm girl, enjoying the outdoors from morning to night, working hard on the family farm. She left the Southey-area farm for Regina where she worked at Foodland, taking time for travels to Italy, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, New York and Detroit. She married and moved from Regina to Vibank, which she affectionately called home until her passing. Mom’s love of gardening and her exceptional cooking and baking talents resulted in many enjoying the fruits of her labour - the annual borscht and stretchies meal started with immediate family but soon grew to include nieces and nephews, in-laws and friends. Mom was the original hockey Mom, enthusiastically cheering for her sons in hockey rinks across the province. But nothing brought her more joy than her grandchildren - a visit, a phone call or a mention of their names made her light up. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul’s R.C. Church on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow in Vibank, SK. Special thanks to Leona Stewart and her home care team, nurses Leah and Lani for their ever present support and kindness to Mom in her home, as well as Dr. Tsang and the staff of 6F at the Regina General Hospital for their compassionate care of Mom during her stay.
