Obituary of Clare Cameron

Clare, of Regina, passed away peacefully at home on September 17, 2022, at the age of 76. Born in Carnduff, SK, Clare grew up on the Cameron Heritage farm south of Carievale, SK, where he had fond memories of family gatherings and doing chores with his little sister, Marion in tow. A dedicated learner with a passion for instruction, he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Regina in 1969. After teaching in Creelman and Estevan, Clare set his sights on Europe where he took a job teaching in Lahr, Germany in 1975. Over the next three years during his tenure there he made the friends of a lifetime and created memories with them that he held dearly for the rest of his life. Upon returning to Canada, Clare worked for the Regina School board for 26 years before retiring in 1995. Clare was a gentle soul with a caring nature who was loved by all that knew him. He treasured most, his time spent with family and friends. Clare was eloquent and sincere with words spoken and written. He could banter with the best and turn on his wry wit on a dime. Clare, having a keen interest in genealogy, was proud to be the keeper of the family history. He was an avid reader and movie buff who loved to jive! Clare was also a man of exceptional taste in all things including friends, food and scotch. His cherished hobbies included tending to the flowers in his yard as well as cooking for friends and family. Many great meals were eaten around Clare's table! Clare was predeceased by his parents, James Cameron and Lillian (Currie) Beatty; step-father, Clare Beatty; sister, Marion Hamilton; and brother, Ken Cameron. He is lovingly remembered by his brother, Bob (Lucille) Cameron; nephew James (Tanya) Cameron and their daughters, Taylor and Jayda; niece, Leanne (Jordan) Breckenridge and their sons, Jack and Henry; and brother-in-law Bob Hamilton (Dianne Spencer); niece, Angela (Kendall) Erickson and their family Ryan, Ashtyn, and Joshua; nephew, Robb (Sally) Hamilton and their sons Morgan, Connor, and Grady; and best friend Kevin Kilbride (Greg King) as well as several dear cousins and friends. For family and friends so wishing, charitable donations in memory of Clare can be made to the Carmichael Outreach, 1510 12 Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 0L5. or a charity of choice.
