Obituary of Mary Alice Lund

Following a full and happy life, Mary Lund passed away peacefully on Friday, October 21, 2022.  Mary Alice Blackmore was born on April 28, 1925, in Maryfield, SK, to Catherine and William Blackmore.  She attended Fleming school before the family moved to Moosomin, SK, in 1939.  In 1946, Mary moved to Regina and worked for the provincial government, where she met Joe Lund.  Mary and Joe married in 1950 and moved to the Kelvington, SK, area, where they farmed, and Mary worked as a legal secretary.  Following retirement in 1982, Mary and Joe enjoyed travelling to many countries.  Her favourites were Sweden, Australia, New Zealand, and Hong Kong, especially visiting Joe’s relatives in Norway. Mary remained active in Kelvington for many years after Joe died in 2002.  She moved to Regina in 2010 to be closer to family and enjoyed living at Marion Chateau and, most recently, Harbour Landing Village. Mary was predeceased by her parents; husband Joseph; three older brothers Bill, Gordon and Fred; and her two younger sisters Ethel Wiebe and Gladys Brindle.  She leaves behind many nieces and nephews.  Thank you to the kind and caring staff at Harbour Landing Village, who provided Mary with comfort, compassion and dignity. For those wishing to, donations in memory of Mary can be made to the Salvation Army. A graveside ceremony is planned for Friday, November 4, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in Kelvington, SK.
