Obituary of Arthur Merrill Anderson

Arthur Merrill Anderson, late of George Gordon, SK, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2022, at the age of 85 years. Predeceased by parents John Walter and Jenny; wife Elaine Olesen-Anderson; son Chris Anderson; sisters Joanie, Frieda, and Myrna; and brothers Calvin, Bud, and Wilfred. He is survived by daughter Elizabeth Steadman (David); granddaughters Kiya, Ilana, Sereina Steadman; daughter and son Brenda Reid (Anderson) and Brian Anderson; sisters Eileen Anderson and Muriel Anderson; brother Gary; and countless nieces and nephews. Arthur served in the Canadian Forces for 28 years and then became an Anglican priest. He worked extensively in his community of George Gordon and lived Reconciliation. Arthur bridged many gaps between Indigenous peoples and the Anglican church. He touched, inspired, and gathered with countless people throughout his life through humour, humility and honesty. Arthur will be greatly missed by many. Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul’s Cathedral, 1861 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK, on Monday, November 7, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.
