Obituary of Arne Stensrud

On Thursday, October 28, 2010, Arne passed away peacefully at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina at the age of 88. Arne will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Laurine (Rudy) Lackhan; daughter-in-law Judy Stensrud; and grandchildren Kirk (Michelle) Stensrud, Craig Stensrud (Jessica Kronlund), Alyssa Lackhan and Brendin Lackhan. He is also survived by his sister Solveig (Bryan) Berggren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Arne is predeceased by wife of 63 years, Margaret, sons Arnold and Kenneth, his parents Carl and Mina Stensrud, sisters Bergine Listoe, Mathea Linde, Emma Cran and Marie Johnson, and brothers Harry and Olav Stensrud. Arne worked for Poole (PCL) Construction for 31 years. He loved boating, fishing, gardening, reading, and handcrafting furniture. He especially enjoyed camping, spending time at their cottage on Long Lake and travelling throughout Canada, Europe, USA and the Caribbean. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina.
