I just saw this obituary. I am very sorry for your loss. Rita and I always had a good friendship while she was married to my Dad. We have thought of her often over the years and hoped she had found happiness.

Mum always said that I inspired her to be a nurse and that may be true but she inspired me to be a strong independent woman. I guess we always held each other up. I will miss her so much.

Auntie Rita, It was great to see you recently in England and so nice you could meet Sian, your great niece, properly this time now she was a bit older. So sorry you are no longer with us but we know you will be enjoying heaven and gossiping with Grandma Brown, and keeping a watching eye over us all. Auntie Rita, It was so lovely to see you here in England last November, I remember how excited you were to be home and you had such a lovely time with mum and dad. You were always the adventurer of our family and you very kindly sent me loads of wonderful postcards when I was a kid that brought the world to life for me. I remember when we visited you in America a few years back and you gave us a wonderful guided tour of such beautiful places. You have left us all with some fabulous memories and we will miss you. My dear little sister Rit, We already miss you so much and you have left a hole in our heart that will never be filled. These photo’s remind me of our wonderful time together over the last 80 years. You arrived bright as a button to join our family and have kept me entertained ever since. You had an early love of cycling and were forever off enjoying life and the outdoors, travelling around the world and building your life in wonderful Canada. We have had many chances over the years to travel together and laugh together - I remember you, John and I having a lovely holiday in Italy a few years ago. Rest in peace with our dear mam.
