Obituary of Richard Dwayne McKay

It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Richard McKay on January 30, 2023, in Regina, SK, at the age of 55. Richard was predeceased by his parents Angus and Edith McKay; siblings, Helen, Rose, Alvin (Buddy) McKay, Dennis McKay, Garry (Odjoe) Toto, Sandra Kaiswatum, Allan Dufour, Conrad McKay, Faith McKay, Loretta McKay, Sherry McKay, Kate McKay, Cheryl and Dwayne in infancy; his partner Terry (Smallz) Pasqua; mother of his children Janice Cappo. Richard is survived by his children Jennifer Cappo and Lance Cappo; brother Warren “Gyp” McKay; sisters Pearl (Joe) Horvath, Thelma Towel and Janet (Gordon) Grant; sisters-in-law, Ronda McKay, Diane “Dee” Toto; special Aunt Isabelle Keepness; his special cousins, Lorraine Cyr, Brenda Bellegarde and Darlene Bellegarde; also survived by many relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

The wake will be held at the Muscowpetung Education Centre, Muscowpetung First Nation on Sunday, February 5, 2023, 4:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at the same location on Monday, February 6, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., with Liz Pratt Officiating. Burial to follow at Muscowpetung First Nation Cemetery. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Regina City Police, the Coroner’s Office and Chief Melissa Tavita and Council, Muscowpetung First Nation for their support.
