Obituary of Jean Cairns

With love and sadness, we announce the death of Jean Cairns. Jean passed away peacefully on February 3, 2023, at the age of 77 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years Donald Cairns; daughter Tamara (Lee) Stocker; son Jayson (Lindsay) Cairns; and grandchildren Nicole, Jessica, Kailey, Raylene and Jakob.

Jean was born June 2, 1945, in Lumsden, Saskatchewan to Jack and Dosia Junor. Jean spent the first few years of her life in Craven, moving to Regina where she attended school. Jean met Don at the age of 14 and the rest was history. Jean became a laboratory technologist in 1963 and married Don April 9, 1966. Two years later they welcomed their daughter Tamara, and four years after that, son Jayson. Jean loved being part of a big family and thought of Don's sisters as her own. She will be missed and remembered with love by many family and friends.

Don and Jean built a beautiful life in Regina and the Regina Beach area. They loved to travel, taking many family holidays; later, they spent part of their winters in Arizona and travelled the world with close friends and family. 

Everyone who met Jean gained an immediate friend. Jean loved to laugh and have fun; she was kind and sweet. Jean sparkled. She is loved and will be missed by so many.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at Speers Family Centre, 2333 Cornwall Street, Regina SK, on February 13, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., with a presentation to begin at 2:30 p.m. To view a livestream of the service, please click on the link above.
