Obituary of Mike Weisgarber
The children of Mike Weisgarber are sad to announce his passing on Sunday, February 12, 2023, at the age of 94 years, 5 months.
Mike was a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, neighbour and friend. He excelled in every one of these roles. Mike was the last and youngest of his siblings.
He is survived by his three children Gary (Sharon) Weisgarber, Louise (Myron) Louis and Cathy Janes. He has eight grandchildren, Keri (Gary), Jennifer, Tim (Amy), Amanda, Nicole, Ryan and Taylor. His great grandchildren are Cody, Holly, Zackary, Nolan, Julia, Cory, Darby, Hannah and Jackson.
Mike will be missed by his in-laws Annie Schaffer, Max (Margaret) Schaffer, Steve Schaffer, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He goes now to join his wife of 63 years, Barbara (2015); an infant granddaughter, Tanya Weisgarber (1975); a granddaughter, Crystal Louis (2018); his parents, Felix and Annie; stepmother, Mary Eva; his siblings Regina (Jim) Ballman, Margaret (Ralph) Runge, Phillip, Frank (Marie), Mary (Leonard) Ashenbrenner, Eva (George) Patriska, Tony (Margaret), Alex, Rose (Louis) Bechard, Adam (Aline), Barbara (Bill) Moisuk, John (Pat), Helen (Art) Percival.
Mike was also predeceased by members of Barbara’s family: her parents, Adam & Magdeline; stepmother, Armenia; siblings Jacob, Margaret (Tony) Weisgarber, Vincent (Margaret), Tony (Helen), John, Casper (Betty), Peter (Loretta), Joe, John Florian, Leo (Loreen), Rose (Stan) Eberle, Eleanor (Alexander) Duthie.
Thank you to the staff at Montmartre Health Center. A funeral service will take place at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 3:30 p.m. with Fr. John Weckend officiating.
Memorial donations can be made to St. Paul’s Parish Cemetery, Box 147, Vibank, Saskatchewan, S0G 4Y0. Cremation has taken place and interment will be held at a later date in Vibank, Saskatchewan.
