Obituary of Matilda Ewen

Tillie passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at the age of 106 years old. She was born on the farm in the Forest District in the North West Territories on July 11, 1904. She was predeceased by her parents John and Anne; sister Margaret and brothers Steve, Dave, Percy, Norman and Edgar. She is survived by nieces Linda Atwell, Gwen Adams, Glenys Roberts and Diann Coates and nephews Trevor Ewen, Ewen Freethy, Irwin Ewen and Wade Ewen. She is also survived by numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. Tillie lived on the farm until she moved into the city in 1950 where she lived in the Cathedral district until the age of 97. Tillie was an active and lifelong member of Empire Rebekah Lodge # 43 and had been since October of 1950. She will always be remembered for her very dry sense of humour and her cooking and baking. We would like to thank Parkside Extendicare, QuAppelle House and Golden Oaks care homes for their excellent care of Tillie during the time that she was no longer able to care for herself. A special thanks to Dr. O. Rasmussen for his care of her. There will be a Celebration of her Life at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2010 in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina with Darrell Reine officiating.
