Obituary of John Henry Blaikie

It is with great sadness that family and friends mourn the passing of John Henry Blaikie, on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at the age of 66 years. 

He was a father, son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend to many.

Predeceased by his mother Joyce and father Bill, John is survived by his sons Robert (Cassandra) and Michael (Laura); grandchildren Lucas and Jack from Ontario; sister Joan; aunt Eva; cousin Nancy from Regina; as well as extended family and friends. 

Born in Biggar, SK, the family moved to Regina in ’59, which became home. John went to Balfour Collegiate, after which he worked many jobs including IPSCO Inc. (before Evraz) and ending with the City of Regina, upon retirement.

The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at MSU, Pasqua Hospital and 6F MSU at the Regina General Hospital for their compassionate care. 

As per John’s wishes, there will be no formal celebration of life.  

Family and friends so wishing may make donations, in memoriam, to Diabetes, Kidney or Heart and Stroke Foundations or charity of your choice.
