Obituary of Richard Eisler

With great sadness the family announces the passing of Richard Eisler on Tuesday, December 7, 2010. He passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife of 60 years by his side. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Theresa, his brother, Bern (Phyl), and sister, Babe (Fred). Rich is survived by his precious wife, Bess; his children Bernie (Morry), Drake (Karen) and Jacky (Wade); and his cherished grandchildren, Richie, Ryan, Steve, Dorian and Reed. He was born in Kendal, Saskatchewan, in 1924. He loved to reminisce about his early life when he and his family lived in Okla, Saskatchewan, for 2 years. The remainder of his life was spent in Regina. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Rich was a staunch supporter of the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Blue Jays. Rich and Bess spent many lovely summer mornings together playing par 3 golf. Rich was inducted into the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame in 1987 and his baseball glove is housed in the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame in St. Marys, Ontario. He was also an accomplished and very talented artist. Many of his masterpieces grace the walls of various residences and places of business all across North America. Rich touched the heart of everyone he met and you will never meet a kinder, more gentle man. He will never be forgotten. Funeral Mass will take place at Little Flower RC Church, 420 College Avenue, Regina on Friday, December 10, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Barry Anwender presiding. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice. To leave an online message of condolence, please visit www.speersfuneralchapel.com
