Obituary of William Paul Salter
SALTER, William P
1925 – 2023
With sad hearts and happy memories, our family invites you to celebrate the life of William (Bill) Paul Salter who passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023.
Dad lived an incredible life, completing his education early so he could join the Navy and serve during WWII, as a result he didn’t find out that he’d graduated until later that year.
Upon leaving the Navy at the end of the war, he started farming with his dad and it was his lifetime passion.
In 1952 he married the love of his life, Isabelle (Planeto) Salter. They survived many ups and downs, but always remained strong together. After an early retirement, winters were spent in Texas and summers were spent at Katepwa Lake. Dad was an avid golfer and was able to walk the course into his eighties.
Dad and mom loved their daughters and were thrilled when the grandchildren started arriving. Grandparenting was their favourite pastime.
Dad was predeceased by Isabelle, and his parents, Jack and Evelyn Salter. He is survived by daughters Laurie Salter and Jan Cooper (Blaine); and grandchildren, Erin, Stephen, and Michael Cosgrove (Jas Gakhal), Theresia (James Fuhro), Tom and Mack (Kelsey) Cooper; great grandchildren, Asher Cuming, Isabelle and Will Cooper; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Bill and Isabelle’s love for each other shone through, at all times, and they extended that love to all of us.
Thank you to all who are near and far as we celebrate Bill’s life.
A Come and Go celebration of dad’s life will be held at Roberts Plaza in the coffee room, 3520 Hillsdale Street, Regina, SK on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
