Obituary of Daisy Mae Desjarlais

DAISY MAE DESJARLAIS February 11, 1950 March 20, 2013 Daisy passed away peacefully, with her family by her side on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at the age of 63 years. Predeceased by her husband, Alvin Papequash; her parents, George and Louise Desjarlais (nee Kaiswatum); brothers, Ray, Mervin, Ken and Clayton Kaiswatum and Lawrence Desjarlais; sister-in-law Gloria Kaiswatum; grandparents, JB and Nympha Kaiswatum (nee Dieter) and James and Lottie Desjarlais (nee Fox); special cousin Delbert Bush? Kaiswatum; and many other relatives. Daisy is survived by her daughters, Melissa, Candi (Dion) and Peggy (Sydney); nine grandchildren, as well as one special grandson, Cameron, whom she raised. Daisy was also a loving, caring foster parent to many children. She will also be missed by her brothers, Joe Kaiswatum, Steve (Gail), Harold (Elrine), Vern (Delvine), Calvin, Deon (Brenda); sisters, Joan (Brian), Vera (Curtis); adopted sister Ivy Kennedy; sisters-in-law Delvina, Marjorie and Ida; special niece Lisa (Curtis); special aunts Anne Kaiswatum and Helen Nahnepowisk; as well as many other nieces, nephews and cousins, too numerous to mention. Wake will be held at the Piapot First Nation Band Hall on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the same location with Traditional Feast to follow on Monday, March 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Glenn Povey officiating. We would like to thank the nurses, doctors and staff from the Regina General Hospital, SICU, for their kind and compassionate treatment of Daisy.
