Obituary of Frank Albert Sabo

1929 - 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce that Frank passed away peacefully on Thursday December 23, 2010 with his loving family at his side. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 60 years, Elva; son Ken (Pat) of Regina; daughters Kathryn (Randall Hofley) of Ottawa and Karen (Anton Suss) of Calgary. He will also be lovingly remembered by his five grandchildren, Jessica (Devon) Sterling, Mark Sabo, Zachary Hofley, Simon Hofley, Amelia Suss and two great grandchildren, Aidan and Landon Sterling. Frank is also survived by three sisters, Vera Flaman of Penticton BC, Fran Hay of Santa Barbara CA and Gerry Sabo (Glenn Ackerman) of Penticton BC; his aunt, Georgina Knezacek of Esterhazy; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. Frank was predeceased by his parents, Frank William and Elizabeth Sabo; his brother William (Gloria) Sabo; sister Elizabeth (George) Bub; sister Julie (Jim) Dusanko; nephew Richard Dusanko, and brothers-in-law Barnie Flaman and Jim Hay. Frank was born in Regina on April 22, 1929. He was a proud member of the Regina Fire Department for 36 years, from 1952 to 1988. Throughout his life, Frank shared his love of the cottage at Pasqua Lake and the cabin at Clam Lake in northern Saskatchewan with family and friends, leaving all with countless memories of their time together. A Funeral Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. A private interment will be held at Riverside Memorial Park. The family would like to extend special thanks to Pastor D. Koch for his support and to the staff of the Palliative Care Program, Unit 3A at the Pasqua Hospital, and the Regina Wascana Grace Hospice for their caring and kindness. Flowers gratefully declined.
