Obituary of Myrna Lee Wilcox
1950 - 2011
Myrna was born in Imperial, SK, to parents Elmer and Lucille Wilcox in August, 1950. She attended school in Stalwart, Imperial, and Luther College in Regina and later she succeeded in a nursing course and a secretarial course. Her biggest joy throughout her lifetime was her dedication to the Lord and her church. She liked to volunteer at Souls Harbour Mission and the Regina Food Bank. Just before taking ill she was concerned about the need for turkeys and hams for the Christmas dinner at Souls Harbour. Myrna loved to read, play the piano and travel. In the past she has travelled in tours to British Columbia, the Black Hills, S. Dakota, California (Crystal Cathedral), Arizona, Washington, D.C., the Maritimes, Alaska, England, Scotland and Ireland. Myrna was predeceased by her parents, Lucille and Elmer; and a baby sister, Betty Lynn. She is survived by her two brothers Verne (Doris) of Imperial and Mark (Ute) of Tonasket, Washington; and nieces and nephews Robin, Zane (Kelly), Dominic and Johannah Wilcox, Carman (Dawn), Tyler Wilcox, Karla (Kevin) Rae, and Lisa (Sheldon) Vance and their children. A Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 3:30 p.m. A private family interment will take place at a later date in Imperial, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Souls Harbour Rescue Mission, P.O. Box 24025, Regina, SK, S4P 1Z4.
