Obituary of Adolf Hischebett
Surrounded by the love of his family, Jim passed away on Monday, May 2, 2011 at the age of 89 years. Jim had a life well lived. He was born in Omsk, Siberia on March 13, 1922 and moved to Canada at the age of 5. He was raised on a farm in Togo, Saskatchewan and at the age of 18, joined the army and fought in WWII. While in England he met and married the love of his life, Dorothy. They made their home in Regina where he became an electrician and later an electrical instructor at the Saskatchewan Technical Institute in Moose Jaw. After 25 years, he retired as the Assistant Department Head. Jim had many interests and hobbies he enjoyed gardening, music, woodworking and built fine guitars for family and friends. Jim was very proud of his family and one of the things he loved most were the large family gatherings where there was always much fun and laughter. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Natalia and Adolf; his son-in-law Jerry Toews; and his daughter-in-law Lynn Hischebett. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Dorothy of 65 years, and their children, Elaine (Tom) Balkwill, Marilyn Toews, Bob (Debby) Hischebett, Karen (Tom) Lowe, Rick (Leah) Hischebett; 16 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; brothers, Bob and Arnold as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina on Friday, May 6, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
