Obituary of Maurice C. Williams
WILLIAMS, MAURICE C. (MOE) 1993 Inductee Saskatchewan Roughriders Plaza of Honor - On May 3, 2011, in his 94th year, Moe passed away peacefully at the Lumsden and District Heritage Home. A true Saskatchewan boy, Moe was the last member of his immediate family; his mother Jessie (1966), his father George (1971), older brother Kenneth (1999), his kid brother Cameron (1944) and his baby sister Mildred (2006) predeceased him. His wife Donnie (1975) and his eldest child Maureen (1994) also predeceased him. To cherish his memory he leaves his sons Garry (Glenys) and Brian (Cindy), four grandchildren Brent, Suzie, Kenzie and Lee (Becky), and three great grandchildren Jess, Jager and Andie. Pursuant to Dad's wishes, a private memorial service has been held. For Dad, a truly spirited competitor, it was never about winning for himself, it was all about giving his best for his teams, his community and his province. By being a team player, he felt he could inspire those around him so that they too could have the opportunity to share in the feelings of success and accomplishments. The family would like to thank Moe's caregivers at the Lumsden and District Heritage Home who made him feel so special over the past four and a half years; it meant the world to Moe to be in such caring hands. We also acknowledge his many friends and the residents of Lumsden who kept an eye on him, lending him a helping hand and treating him with the utmost of respect.
