Obituary of Delano Vincent Toto

It is with great sadness and deep sorrow that his friends and family announce the tragic passing of their son Delano at the tender age of 16, on Saturday, May 7, 2011. He was a Grade 11 student at Thom Collegiate, and attended Gladys McDonald through his elementary years. Basketball was his all-time favorite sport, and he also grew up playing fast-ball and loved hockey. Delano loved to listen to music on YouTube, spend time with his siblings and watch movies. His favorite foods were poutine and souvlaki. Delano took great pride in his baby sister, Olivia? who held a very strong place in his heart. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather Milton Brass; paternal grandfather Delano Toto; great-great-grandmother Mary Louise Rockthunder, and great-grandmothers, Winona Toto and Susan Brass. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Devine and Andre Toto; siblings, Brandon Sapp and Brayden, Savannah and Olivia Toto; special cousin Samantha Brass; special uncle Derek Akapew (Deka); adopted brothers and best friends, Brandon Ironchild, Wade Lavallee, Scott Hoostie, Justin Kuntz, Trenton Pelletier and Devon Clausen; best friends, Chance, Daynen and Jayden McKay, Big Sav, Kyle Lavallee, Fred Rockthunder, and Herb and Angus Fox; special friends, Sasha Marckoski, Shayna Overby and Keiara Montgomery; great-grandmother Alice (Charlie) Berger; grandmothers, Shirley Brass, Sharon Toto (Harvey), Luanne (Stan) Nahnepowisk and Linda Oakes; aunts, Marcy (Lawrence) Pelletier, Dona (Clarence) Papequash, Kim Papequash (Davey), Giselle Brass (Jay), Renee Brass (Dallas), Andrea Toto (Lymon), Cheyanne Toto, Brandy Toto, Barbi-Jo Anaskan, Kerri-Dawn and Colleen Oakes (Dennis); uncles, Derrick Brass, Darren Brass, Sanford Brass, Dallas Toto, Jason Anaskan and Randy Oakes (Trena); as well as the Obey and Rockthunder families and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, friends and teachers from Thom Collegiate and Gladys McDonald. You were a very special boy, with a beautiful smile and a great sense of humor. Your Momma Bear and Poppa Bear are deeply going to miss you every day. We love you Delano. No words can ever describe what you meant to us. A Wake will be held at the Piapot Community Hall, Piapot First Nation, TONIGHT, Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Service to take place at the Piapot Community Hall on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow in Riverside Memorial Park, 815 Assiniboine Avenue East, Regina.
