Obituary of William Meaney

WILLIAM JIM? MEANEY July 14, 1931 April 9, 2013 After a life of love and laughter, we are sad to announce the passing of Jim after a fall and brief illness. In his life he had many talents and hobbies, including self taught carpentry, hockey, golf, water sports and the trumpet. After his diagnosis with MS, he continued to provide us with endless hours of advice and opinions, even though he could not participate physically. His greatest joy was his family, including his wife and soul mate Lucille; daughter Janet (David) Barber; and son Brian Meaney. He was immensely proud of his grandsons Adam, Robert and Jon Barber and Jessie Meaney. He will be fondly remembered by brother-in-law Gordon Currie, sister-in-law Pearl Doane; six nieces and nephews and their families; as well as a number of close friends. Jim was predeceased by his grandson Doug Barber; nephew Gary Doane; brother-in-law Bob Currie; sisters-in-law Shirley Currie and Evelyn Currie. Jim and Lucille faced their many joys and challenges with a quiet grace and always worked together. Jim will be remembered for his great smile, his strength and his caring manner (also, his many strong opinions). Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. Interment in Regina Beach Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. Those who so choose, may make a donation, in memoriam, to the Doug Barber Memorial Fund, c/o the South Saskatchewan Community Foundation, 2700 Montague Street, Regina, SK, S4S 0J9 or the Regina Humane Society, P.O.
