Obituary of Bessie Helen Isabelle Midmore

Bessie passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 14, 2011, shortly after her 98th birthday. Bessie was raised on her parents homestead 20 miles out of Davidson, SK. Throughout her life Bessie fondly recalled the life of the early settlers. While working as a teacher in a one-room school near Wilcox, she met her future husband Jack Midmore. They were married at St. Pauls Cathedral in Regina in 1938. Bessie studied Fine Arts at the U of R and became an accomplished artist. Her watercolor paintings can be found in many homes throughout Canada and the United States. Bessie was predeceased by her beloved husband Jack in 1985 and is survived by her son, John S. Midmore (Lita) of Valparaiso, IN; grandsons John, Chad and Roger; and granddaughter Letitia (A.J.). A Celebration of Life will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina on Monday, July 18, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Lois Knudsen Munholland officiating.
