Obituary of Dorothy Szumutku

Dorothy, late of Regina SK, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 15, 2013 at the age of 75 years. Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her partner and companion of ten years, Mike Hovanes; daughters Adrienne Krahenbil (Vern), Dianna (Maynard) Mallow, Norine (Todd) Johnson, Cheryl (Art) Friesen, and Nadine (Yeorgo) Traiforos; eight grandchildren Gordon (Amanda), Justin, Kyle (Brooklin), Evan, Daniel (Majken), Amanda (Paul), Julia and Dagny; great-grandson Nicholas; brothers Rudy (Irene), Bernard (Shirley) and Donald (Sylvia); sister Beatrice (Alfred) Sekel; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents John and Vera Lautner, son-in-law Ed Guenther and husband John. Dorothy loved working with her hands, whether it be sewing, crocheting, quilting, baking or playing in the dirt? as she used to say. Her greatest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren. Dorothy was so proud to call them hers and would frequently brag about them to her friends. In honour of Dorothys love of flowers the family asks that you wear brightly coloured clothing to celebrate her life. Prayer Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Friday, April 19, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Henrys R.C. Church, 729 Main Street, Melville, SK on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Henrys R.C. Cemetery, Melville, SK. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff in Unit 4A at the Pasqua Hospital and the staff at the Pioneer Village Day Program. In lieu of flowers, donations in memoriam may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, 301 2550 12th Avenue, Regina, SK, S4P 3X1.To leave an online message of condolence, please visit www.speersfuneralchapel.com
