Obituary of Mary Ellen Goldie
Mary passed away peacefully at her home in the Queen Victoria Estates in Regina on Thursday, August 18, 2011. Mary Ellen was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on November 25, 1921 to Cy and Maud Williams. She was raised in Quibell, Ontario where Cy was Station Agent. In 1942 she joined the C.W.A.C. serving in C.W.A.C offices until June of 1946. In March of 1946 she married Ross Goldie. They loved to travel and enjoyed many trips. Predeceased by her husband (2008), her parents, sister Helen, and brothers Clarence and Bob, she is survived by daughter Shirley Brooks; sons Jim and Charlie (Barb); four grandsons, Clay (Deborah), Fred (Jennine), Will (Jamie) and Chris (Melissa) Brooks; two granddaughters, Jessica (Cordell) Kreutzer and Leslie Goldie. She also leaves nine great-grandchildren. Mary is also survived by her brother Herb. Funeral Service will be held at St. James United Church, 1105 Empress Street, Regina, S4T 5E4 on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Malcolm French officiating.
