Obituary of Harvey Deck

HARVEY DECK With great sadness, the family of Harvey Deck announces his unexpected passing on the afternoon of May 20, 2009, at the age of 67 years due to complications following open heart surgery. Harvey was born July 1, 1941, the first child to Peter and Rose Deck of Vibank, SK. He was predeceased by his father Peter Deck in 1976 and his step-father Larry Stoppler in 2000. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Frieda; his two sons, Shawn and Kevin (Pam); his beloved grandson, Kelly; and his loving mother, Rose Stoppler. Also mourning his passing are his sisters, Lucille Dean (Joe), Carol Dubois, Peggy Deck and one brother Peter Deck (Iryna). He will also be missed by seven nephews and four nieces who all loved their "Uncle Harvey", along with many friends and fishing buddies. The family would like to thank the caring staff of the ICU of the General Hospital. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make donations in Harvey's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 " 3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon S7K 2H8 or the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina S4P 2R3. The Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Child R. C. Church, 2636 - 7th Avenue East, Regina on Monday, May 25th at 10:30 a.m. The burial will take place at Riverside Memorial Park.
