Obituary of Florian Thomas 'Tom' Karchewski

KARCHEWSKI, FLORIAN THOMAS Tom passed away peacefully in the palliative care unit of the Pasqua Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, May 22, 2009. Born at Summerberry, Sask. in 1938, Tom moved to Regina with his family in 1945. He attended St. Augustine Elementary School and Balfour Tech. High School. Following graduation he joined SaskPower Corp. and was employed in their drafting dept., retiring early after thirty-five years of service. Predeceased by his father Anthony; mother Rose; and brothers Ted and Wes. Surviving him are daughters, Lynn of Halifax NS and Laurie of Ottawa ON; brothers, Longene (Sally) of Regina and Val of Calgary; sister-in-law Barbara of Regina; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family R.C. Church, 1021 McCarthy Blvd. N., Regina on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 10:30 am with Fr. Brad Fahlman presiding.
