Obituary of Adam Jestadt

ADAM JESTADT NOVEMBER 15, 1922 " MAY 26, 2009 ADAM DIED ON TUESDAY, MAY 26, 2009 AFTER A LONG ILLNESS. HE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED BY HIS LOVING WIFE, DENISE; HIS BELOVED CHILDREN, DENIS, JOHN, CHRISTINE, MICHAEL AND PETER; BY HIS WONDERFUL GRANDCHILDREN, ALANA, NICKY, ZARA, ILISSA, MALCOLM, MARGOT, SEAN, RICHARD, IAN, ALISON AND GINA; SPECIAL GREAT-GRANDSON, BEN; DAUGHTERS-IN-LAW, POLLY, WENDY, LAURIE, ALICE; AND BY HIS LOVING SISTER-IN-LAW, PAT DODD OF YORK, ENGLAND. DURING WORLD WAR II ADAM SERVED IN THE POLISH SECOND CORPS WITH THE BRITISH EIGHTH ARMY, AND FOUGHT IN NORTH AFRICA AND ITALY, INCLUDING THE BATTLE OF MONTE CASSINO. HE MET AND MARRIED DENISE (NE DINAN) IN ENGLAND IN 1948, AND THEY CAME TO CANADA IN 1949. HIS WORK AS A CHEF AND THEN SOUS-CHEF AT THE HOTEL SASKATCHEWAN MADE MEALS ENJOYABLE FOR HUNDREDS OF PATRONS. HE WAS ALWAYS SO PROUD OF THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF HIS CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN IN THE FIELDS OF DRAMA, MUSIC, VIDEOGRAPHY, ART AND SPORTS, BUT HE WAS AN ACCOMPLISHED ARTIST HIMSELF. HE TOOK ART AND POTTERY CLASSES AT THE UNIVERSITY OF REGINA. MANY HOMES ARE DECORATED WITH HIS FINE POTTERY. ABOVE ALL, HE WAS A VERY LOVING, GENEROUS, WISE MAN AND WE WILL MISS HIM TERRIBLY. WE WISH TO THANK DR. LOTZ, DR. McMILLAN, JOLEEN PHO, AND ALL THE COMPASSIONATE PEOPLE AT WASCANA GRACE HOSPICE FOR THEIR SPECIAL HELP. THERE WILL BE A FAMILY GRAVESIDE SERVICE. FRIENDS OF ADAM AND THE FAMILY ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO A TEA IN THE BLUE LOUNGE AT THE HOTEL SASKATCHEWAN, 2125 VICTORIA AVENUE, REGINA ON SUNDAY, MAY 31, 2009 AT 4:00 P.M.
