Obituary of Drucilla Harstad

FRANCES DRUCILLA ISABEL HARSTAD On Friday, May 29, 2009 Drucilla Harstad, late of Lumsden Heritage Home, passed away at the age of 99 years with her family by her side. Predeceased by her parents; her husband, Magnus in 1970; one granddaughter, Lisa Coueslan in 1986. Drucilla is survived by two daughters, Drucilla (Harvey) Huber of Brandon and their son, Ronald (Wanda) and their children, Kendall, Brayden, Kody; daughter, Shelley (Don) Jeffrey and their children, Alexandra, Ryan; daughter, Astrid (Fred) Coueslan of Humboldt and their daughter, Michelle (Gordon) Klashinsky, son Curtis (Vicky) and their son Austin; son Gordie Jr. (Kim) and their son Skylar, son Cory. Born on February 5, 1910 at the County Durham Hamsterley, Drucilla was brought up on a dairy farm, number eight of eleven children. In 1929 she moved to Canada and in 1932 married her soul mate, Magnus Harstad. After nine years of marriage they were blessed with twins. Mom loved her home and cottage. After dads passing mom became caregiver to many children in Lumsden. Mom was a religious person who taught her family to be respectful adults. She was a very independent person. She loved her grandchildren and was always interested in what their family was doing. Despite failing vision and Arthritis she carried on the best she could. Life goes on and we will all miss you, Mom. You were a good mom, mother-in-law, grandma, great-grandma, great-great-grandma. Love you!
