Obituary of Agnes Maserek

AGNES MASEREK Agnes Maserek passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2009 at Santa Maria Senior Citizens Home in Regina. Agnes was born at Ballymoney Co-Antrim, Ireland and was always very proud of her Irish heritage. She came to live in Saskatchewan as a young girl, married and farmed in the Weyburn area, later moving to Regina where she met and married Joe Maserek. Agnes was a very generous supporter of St. Charles R.C. Parish. She was an avid gardener and an active member of the Horticultural Society, winning many awards for her beautiful yard and garden. She spent her last few years at Santa Maria receiving excellent care. Agnes is survived by her daughter-in-law Faye Wilson; granddaughter Cindy (Keith Matt) and children, Tanya (Alvin), Eric, Aaron, Allen, and great-great granddaughters, Isabelle and Anna; granddaughter JoAnn (Willy Moulin) and children, Ashley, Cheree and Desiree; sisters-in-law Kathleen McAleese and Clara Kriekle; numerous nieces and nephews in Ireland, Weyburn, Regina and Toronto. Agnes is predeceased by her first husband Edwin Sterling; son James and grandson Robert; her second husband Joe Maserek; as well as all her brothers and sisters. A Funeral Mass will be held at Santa Maria Senior Citizens Home Chapel, 4215 Regina Avenue, Regina at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 8, 2009 and will be officiated by Rev. Ken Koep. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Weyburn. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.speersfuneralchapel.com
