Mom was born on a farm in the Kronau district, the third of thirteen children. She worked on the farm until marrying Meinrad in 1937, and they were married for 53 years, until Dad passed away in 1991. They farmed at St. Peters Colony till 1952 when they moved into Regina. Mom was a tireless worker, looking after a big three storey house and eight children as well as up to six boarders at one time. Mom was an excellent cook which included several German dishes. Mom and Dad created a loving and caring house to raise their children. They started a 46 year old tradition of Sunday Family Breakfast that continues to this day. It began at their Osler St. home and today rotates through 7 homes, attended by 25 to 35 family members. Mom was a very loving person and loved to see her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Each would get a light pat on their backside when they gave her a hug. Mom enjoyed watching her children, including grandchildren, participate in various activities. She was a Sask Roughrider season ticket holder for many years as well as a strong supporter of the Regina Rams and U of R Athletics. She attended games up till 2010. Mom was a 60 year member of the CWL at Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church and Little Flower R.C. Church. Mom will be greatly missed by her family but will never be forgotten. The family would like to thank the staff on 3E of Pioneer Village for the care they provided during her stay.
