Obituary of Minnabelle Kerley

It is with great sadness we announce Minnabelle Margaret Kerley passed away peacefully on June 16, 2009. Minnabelle was born in Swift Current in 1917. She was predeceased by her loving husband Gilbert in 1999, sisters Hazel and Ruth, sisters-in-law Kathleen Leech and Gwen Kerley, brothers-in-law Charles Leech and Gordon Kerley. Minnabelles memory is cherished by her three children, Hugh (Marilyn) Kerley of Edmonton, Judy (Wayne) Hunter of Regina and Brenda (Bryan) Clark of Regina. Also keeping Minnabelles memory close are her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Jolaine (Dustin) Maloney, Alicia (Pete) Fenton, Drew Hunter, Adam Hunter, Joel Hunter, Erica Clark, Gina (Andrew) Beck, Graeme Clark, Jaden Cook, Jett Fenton, Jack and Sophie Maloney. Also surviving Minnabelle is her brother-in-law, Des Kerley, nieces, Margaret, Patti, Kathleen, Carol, Susan, and nephew Bob. For her own personal enjoyment Minnabelle was a knitter, a reader and a dancer. More important to her than anything was her love of family and friends, first and foremost there was Gil, her life partner. They were married for 58 years. Through war times, Swift Current times and then Regina times, they enjoyed playing cards with friends, Beta Sigma Phi connections, curling and many wonderful holidays. Minnabelle was also a loving, caring mom, grandma and great-grandma, who looked forward to attending basketball games, recitals, graduations and all family celebrations. Her nurturing manifested love and respect from her grandchildren and she became the focus of their love. Thank you to Wildrose Home for your care and compassion. A celebration of Minnabelles life will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Heritage United Church, 1050 North Arnason Street, Regina. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Minnabelle may be made to Heritage United Church, 1050 Arnason Street, Regina S4X 2P1 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 " 3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8.
