Obituary of Mary Margaret McPhee

Mary Margaret (May) McPhee May passed away on Friday, June 19, 2009. She was the only child of Agnes (McLaughlin) and John McPhee of Scotland. May was born July 20, 1918 and raised in Regina, attending school at Sacred Heart Elementary School and Sacred Heart Academy. After business school, May began a life-long career with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways, retiring after more than 46 years of service. Her many friends from Highways became as close to her as family. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Parish, was proud of her boys as Cub mistress, and was active during the war years in supporting Canadas Armed Forces. May enjoyed summers at Regina Beach, biking and travelling. She is survived by Donald McDougall (Grace) of Kelowna and Katherine Aikens (McDonald) of Delaware and their families, children of her parents closest friends, as well as special friend Maureen Boyle. Also mourning Mays passing are legions of friends and hundreds who called her Auntie May?. She will be especially missed by her closest friends in Club?, who will always remember her laughter and smile. Thank you to all the staff at Precious Memories Villa for their compassionate care of May. A celebration of Mays life will be held at Christ the King Parish, 3239 Garnet Street on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. Friends so wishing may make donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Regina Chapter at 1545C McAra Street, Regina, S4N 6H4.
