Obituary of Elsa (Elsie) Walters

WALTERS, Elsa (nee Schubert) late of Sunset Extendicare, Regina, Saskatchewan, passed away at the age of 96 years and 10 months. She has been called home to be with her Lord and Saviour on June 19th 2009. Elsa was predeceased by her husband Max on November 8th 1991; parents, Daniel and Amelia; six sisters, Dolly Miller, Mary Schmidt, Olga Schmidt, Molly Russell, Martha Schindel and Anna Wray; two brothers, Ed Schubert and Alfred Schubert; brothers-in-law, Henry Miller, Phillip Schmidt, Fred Schmidt, Dan Schindel, Roy Wray, Joe Schindel and Joe Gabel; and sister-in-law Elsie Schubert. She is survived by four sisters, Bertha Hill, Emma Schindel and Helen Gabel of Melville, Irene (Arnold) Smith of Fort QuAppelle; one sister-in-law Lydia Schubert of Mission, BC; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Elsas family wishes to express to the staff of Sunset Extendicare their sincere appreciation for the care given to Elsa for the last five years. For those wishing, in lieu of flowers donations in Elsas memory may be made to a charity of their choice. A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, June 23rd 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, with The Reverend Henry Friesen officiating.
