Obituary of James Joseph McCashin

JAMES JOSEPH McCASHIN December 11, 1915 October 31, 2012 Its with great sadness we announced the passing of our father Jim McCashin who died peacefully on Wednesday, October 31, 2012. Dad was born in Regina on December 11, 1915. He resided in Regina and was a member of Holy Rosary Parish for all of his 96 years. After attending Campion College, he joined his father in managing My Wardrobe Cleaners and Furriers, situated in the Carmen Block at the corner of Albert Street and 11th Avenue. During the war, he served in the Air Force as a gunnery instructor. On February 6, 1943, Dad married Clarice MacDonald, his beloved wife of 69 years. Mom passed away earlier this year. Dad sold My Wardrobe in 1962 and together with two business associates owned and operated a small chain of convenience stores called The Happy Shopper. He retired at the age of 65 and enjoyed 31 years of retirement with his wife, family and friends, most of it at the long-time family home on Garnet Street. He was predeceased by his sisters Alice, Mary, Anne and Elizabeth (Isaby) and his brother Patrick. Jim is survived by his eight children and their spouses, 16 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Rest in peace, Dad. We love you, miss you and pray for you. Memorial Service will be held at Holy Rosary Cathedral Church, 2104 Garnet Street, Regina, SK on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Flowers most gratefully declined.
