Obituary of Margretha Haverstock

MARGRETHA MARGRET? HAVERSTOCK June 7, 1922 November 1, 2012 Margret passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at the age of 90 years, surrounded by family in Regina, SK. She will be forever remembered by her husband of 67 years, Ernest; daughters Dayleen (Dan), Brenda (John) and Debbie (Grant); sons Blair and Duane; grandchildren Shea (Nicole), Breanne (Landon), Chelsea, Jillian (Andrew), Kristopher and Anna; and many other family and friends. In 1942, Margret moved from her home in Estevan, SK, to Prince Rupert, BC, where she worked as a welder on freight ships during WWII. It was there that she met Ernest Haverstock in July 1945, and married him the following September. The couple returned to Saskatchewan, eventually moving to Moosomin in 1953, where they lived for 17 years, raising their family of five children, and where Margret meticulously managed their popular family-operated restaurant for two years. After relocating to Yorkton from 1970-76, the couple settled in Regina where their home was the heart of family gatherings throughout the years. Margret loved to read, play Scrabble and cook. Most of all in her life, she was proud of her family, for which she gave so much of herself through boundless love and support. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at Regina Memorial Gardens, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memoriam may be made to a charity of your choice.
